New Executive Director – Tessa Gordziejko

We are delighted to announce today that Tessa Gordziejko is confirmed as the company’s new Executive Director. Tessa is currently Creative Director of imove and Chair of Red Ladder Theatre.

Tessa takes over from Mark Hollander, who has been the Company’s Executive Director since 2013 and leaves the company to take up the role of Executive Director at Leeds-based Phoenix Dance Theatre, one of the UKs leading contemporary dance companies.

Tessa is an Arts Producer and Consultant with over 20 years’ experience in the cultural sector, most recently delivering imove, a £4 million programme over 5 years as part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad and five projects for the legacy project imove Arts between 2013-2016. Previously Tessa was Director at Arts & Business Yorkshire and a Clore Cultural Leadership Fellow 2005-07.

Jon Spooner, our Creative Director, comments:

“I couldn’t be happier that Tessa is joining us in this role, particularly as I’ve had the pleasure of working with her previously when she commissioned Unlimited as part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. Not only is Tessa an outstanding thinker and leader with a deep understanding of how to produce work, she is also a wonderful and empathetic collaborator. I’m massively looking forward to leading Unlimited through this next exciting phase with her.”

Tessa Gordziejko said:

“I am very excited to be joining Unlimited, a company I have known and admired for many years. They consistently produce work that is intelligent, exhilarating, relevant and audacious, all qualities which are central to my own love of performance making. It’s going to be a big adventure.”
